OLX Philippines

Before OLX Philippines, there was Sulit.com.ph. It was in 2006 when couple RJ David, then a freelance web developer, and Arianne David, a project lead for a bank, got the idea of turning their passion in programming and web development into more than just a hobby. With just a P2,400 starting capital, the couple worked from RJ’s bedroom in Angono, Rizal. Eventually, the duo turned into a team of 5, operating in a makeshift office above RJ’s garage.

The platform quickly became the most visited local site in the country, growing its traffic every month and even picking up several awards such as People’s Choice Award and Best E-Business Website in the Philippine Web Awards. In 2014, the company rebranded to OLX and now stands at having over 8 million monthly users generating traffic of 481 million monthly pageviews. The group is composed of 120 dynamic individuals in the Manila and Cebu offices committed to improve Filipinos’ lives by bringing them together for win-win exchanges.
